You can book your car quickly on our website, by telephone on +351967 309 909 or if you prefer, make your booking via bookings@grupoanc.pt.
In order to book and drive one of our vehicles, you must be 19 years old or have at least one year's driving license; if you are under 25, you will be charged a young driver fee.
To pick up your vehicle, all we need is your personal ID and driving license.
You will receive a confirmation email from ANC containing all the details of your booking.
Yes, we want you to get to know as much of our island as possible, so it makes no sense to limit your exploration.
We only make confirmations regarding the vehicle category, we do not guarantee brands or models of vehicles
If you choose no insurance or average insurance, it is compulsory to hire the car, and it must be in the name of the main driver, in order to leave the excess on the car. If you choose premium insurance, you don't need a credit card because it reduces the excess to 90 euros, which can be accepted by debit card.
You can change your booking free of charge up to 48 hours in advance, but this does not apply to promotional rates. In the event of cancellation, if made before the pick-up date, the prepaid amount will be converted into credit that can be used for all ANC Group Tourism services.

Payments

Once you have filled in your information, you will have 2 options, either partial payment (50%) or full payment. Payment will be made by VISA, MASTERCARD or AMERICAN EXPRESS card.
Parking fines and any violation of the Highway Code are the responsibility of the renter, who must pay them before returning the vehicle. If they don't, ANC, together with the relevant authorities, will identify the renter so that they can collect the fine at their home address.

Vehicles

No, the personal data you enter in the booking is assumed to be that of the driver for the production of the contract. If this is not the case, you must inform us by emailing bookings@grupoanc.pt, sending the necessary documents of the designated driver or adding a second driver to the booking in the options section.
In the event of roadside assistance, be it a flat tire or a road accident, you should first park the vehicle if possible so as not to congest traffic. In these circumstances, the person placing the triangle should wear the vehicle's reflective vest and contact the ANC as soon as possible to assess the situation. In the event of injuries, contact 112 immediately.
You should always fill out a Friendly Accident Report (DAAA) as completely as possible together with the authorities who should be called to the local. You should then contact ANC and come to our offices if possible to hand over all the documentation relating to the accident. If it is not possible to go to our premises, we will call Travel Assistance.

Insurance

Change of fuel; damage to the interior of the vehicle; damaged clutch or any other type of situation while driving the vehicle; damage caused under the vehicle; inability to remove the vehicle from a given location.
When you rent a car, the security deposit serves as a guarantee, and the value of the claim estimate will be the amount payable. However, our insurance policies are available to reduce the value of the deposit and are usually associated with an excess, which is the amount the customer is liable for in the event of accidental damage to the vehicle.
You can check the values by making a reservation simulation, the deposit / liability can vary according to the vehicle segment and the insurance taken out.
It is important to note that none of the insurances cover damage caused by negligence in the normal use of the vehicle, such as filling up with the wrong fuel, smoking or damage caused inside the vehicle. BASE INSURANCE - Only covers damage caused by third parties, which must be duly proven; MEDIUM INSURANCE - This rate has a deposit / deductible of €500. PREMIUM INSURANCE - This rate has a deposit / excess of 90€.

Vehicle pick-up

Identification document or passport; Driving license, issued more than one year ago and valid in the EU or International Driving Permit
Yes, at the time of delivery and upon return, the vehicle is checked by the driver together with an employee, in order to update the data contained in the rental contract regarding the condition of the vehicle.

Vehicle drop-off

As fuel consumption is the driver's responsibility, the vehicle must be delivered with a full tank, as it was originally received. ANC cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by the vehicle being filled up with the wrong fuel.
Yes, car washing is not included in your rental. We ask that you bring the car in the same exterior and interior condition as when it was delivered, or you can pay a discounted cleaning fee at pick-up and you won't have to worry about cleaning on delivery.
The vehicle must be returned by the time stated in the contract (with a tolerance of 1 hour). After this period, 1 extra day will be charged automatically.
You should go to the rental station or to our kiosk in Ponta Delgada. The extension is subject to availability of the car and additional payment, as well as optional extras.
If you need to contact us regarding any objects left inside our vehicles, please contact our Reservations Center by phone, whatsapp or email. ANC accepts no responsibility for objects left in the vehicle at the end of the rental.
